Mahindra Factory Tour in India

Bill and Betsy of Bill's Tractor were honored to be the guests of Mahindra Tractor on a week long tour in January 2001 of India and the Mahindra factory in Bombay . We met with the president of Mahindra, the engineering department, many of the company officials and toured several sections of the factory. We had a return trip in 2005 and saw many improvements in the country of India and the Mahindra Factory.

This factory is extremely clean, well organized and produces 250 tractors per day. The assembly line contains 27 stops of 3 minutes duration which produces a complete tractor. Each individual operation is signed off by the technicians and these logs are retained for 2 years for quality control. The tractors are run on a pto dyno, a chassis dyno, road-tested and then thoroughly checked out before shipping.

SOME OF THE PICTURES MAY BE OF PROTOTYPE UNITS AND MAY NEVER BE FOR SALE IN THE USA. SOME OF THE UNITS MAY BE PRODUCED BY MAHINDRA FOR OTHER COUNTRIES OTHER THAN THE U.S.A.
